Service & Charity

       The Organization of Triangles, Inc., takes pride in its philanthropic identity. As Triangle teaches the virtues of respecting and loving mankind, charitable acts are but one of the many material embodiments of this lesson. Triangle's main philanthropic focus is the manifestation of funds towards the aid of children with special needs. However, Triangle girls spend hundreds of hours each year working in nursing homes, children's facilities, and fundraising to aid such worthy causes. 

        In 2003 alone, Triangle raised over $16,500 in time, service, and donations to dozens of charitable causes.

        Some charities which have been supported by Triangle include the Shrine Children's Hospitals, St. Jude's Fund for Children, Save the Children, Amnesty International, the Seeing-Eye Dog Fund for the Blind, as well as various nursing homes, including St. Alban's Veterans' Home, and the Franklin Nursing Home for the Elderly. All in all, the Organization has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to charitable causes over the last seventy-five years.

          Activities such as fundraising dinners and dances not only are fun for the girls and their friends, but do an invaluable service to the community.  Teaching the girls to value their experience aiding those in need instills in them the qualities of a good person and humanitarian.

        Triangle also takes great pride in its State Scholarship Fund, which grant money to girls entering college. This fund is self-sustained by the girls, and is also supported by the adult fraternal organizations, such as the Masons, the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Order of Amaranth. If you would like to contribute to the work that Triangle does in the community, please email advisor@nytriangle.org. 

         Triangles all over the state have evolved their own fundraisers that have become annual events.  Some of these fundraisers support the girls and their work by helping to defray costs of Convention and other activities. Here are some of the fundraising ideas from around the state; Car Washes, Spaghetti Dinners, Turkey Dinners, "Fifties/Sixties Nights", Dances, Night at the Races, Pancake Breakfasts, Raffles, Game Booths at fairs, parades, selling flowers, food, Advent Calendars, and much more!
